25th January 2012 Cat: Home Air Conditioner with 1 Comment

My new home has two Air Conditioner units, one for the kitchen, living room and entertainments areas, and one for the bedrooms. This is a one story home, 2500 square feet. The thermostats are place in the rezpective areas of the home. How can I best use them to save money and cool the home?

If you have a conserve or a setting similar to it, turn it on that and use the lowest setting that is comfortable for you to use. The unit that cools the large area at the lowest at night. The ones for the bedroom keep off until about an hour before bed time unless they are used during the day. If you have ceiling fans use them to help circulate the air around. If you don’t already do it, close any shades or blinds where the sun is coming directly in the window.

Electronic thermostats would be a good idea . They have a set back feature . When you are not home they can be set to maintain a higher temp and reset to a lower temp just before you all come home .
